Author's note; i hope this qualifies? I wasn't sure if "describe the comet" meant "describe what the meteor shower looks like" or "describe what a fallen comet looks like"

if its the latter I hope i can get a small extension since i just joined today & had to rush this out before the deadline ahah

Perhaps one shouldn’t be surprised that such a lively succubud would be ecstatic at the news of a meteor shower arriving soon but didn’t expect to be watching it.  His mind was static most days, head full of fuss and vague dreams which made him rather absent in the present world however some also considered his behavior creepy and/or uncanny. He didn’t know if he'd be aware enough to witness the event in the first place,

Kindred - despite his given name - was often seen alone fidgeting with something or staring off into space. Who knew what went on in that clouded head of his? He seemed content with the way things were but some could only wonder if that near ever present smile was genuine or just a mask worn so tightly it could rival the parasites grasping around the spine.

Needless to say he’s surprised when someone invites him to go see the meteorite shower tonight - the bud blinks, confused and flicking one of his ears as if he misread or hallucinated but when he opens his eyes again the person’s still there with a hand extended.

Kindred wasn’t known to be nervous, just odd, estranged. He had little social skill and it showed most clearly in situations like this where his already frazzled brain seemed to short circuit a little at an act of basic kindness.

It feels like an eternity before he finally accepts - hesitantly so - but the small group make their way to one of the clear spots to wait for nightfall. To say he’s surprised when people gasp and whisper (read; gossip) at his arrival would be the lie of the century, but he doesn’t pay attention to it - he couldn’t afford to really, needed to reserve all of it for the shower tonight.

The concept of time has always been rather… elusive for the succubud - losing track of it easily and nearly falling asleep when commotion firmly shakes him out of it. He hears gasps, people staring in awe at the sky and whispering silently at each other.

A momentary pang of fear that he missed the stars shoots itself through the mental fog - a fear that is quickly put to rest when he turns his eyes to the sky and a gasp escapes him all the same. Stars swim across the dark abyss they call the sky, tens - no, hundreds or them. So many colors shining bright against the all consuming dark.

For a moment, everything feels right.

Everything feels okay.

Kindred could watch this meteor shower for hours, eyes wide and mouth open somewhat - perhaps one of the few genuine expressions of wonder anyone has ever seen on him. He feels like a child who got shown a shiny object for the first time but it’s not that far from the truth, now is it?

He should make a wish should he? for once he was glad he didn’t have to say something outloud. Many would wish for fame, wealth, perhaps a cure for this parasitic infection that plagues them all so deeply yet… For Kindred only one thing comes to mind.

‘I just want to see wonders like this again’ he mutters in his head. ‘I don't want to lose my mind completely… I want to keep experiencing the world’
